The Virus is a dangerous ransomware that is designed to attack the windows based personal computers and cause severe damage to the system resources. Besides that, this malicious application naturally creates the data privacy issues to steal the highly confidential financial details of the targeted user. This malicious application is distributed through spam emails, peer to peer sharing of files, social engineering, hacked websites, and infected removable storage devices. Once this nasty ransomware enters in the system, it will block access to your normal desktop, and you are only able to see a full screen message that reveals fake threatening information about your activities. You will be accused of involving in online criminal activities such as violation of copyrights, or child pornography due to which the local police has blocked your system. You will be asked to pay the fine (ransom) amount of 100 euro to unlock your system, but in reality this is a trick set by the hackers to extort your money along with the personal information that you share with these cyber criminals while paying the fine amount.   Removal of Virus The Virus is an extremely dangerous ransomware infection that can be lethal for your system components. You must remove this infection at your earliest by using any reliable automatic tool. The automatic method is easy, and very popular among the novice computer users. However, if you have experience of removing such stubborn infections in the past, you can also try the manual removal process that is described below:-   Change the Mode of Operation from Normal to Safe Mode First of all, you have to boot the system in the safe mode to start removing the virus manually. Restart the system, and press F8 key repeatedly to get the access of the boot options menu. After accessing the list of boot options, select the Safe Mode option by using the arrow keys, and press the Enter. End the Malicious Processes After accessing the safe mode, you have to open the task manager through Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys, and click on the processes tab under the task manager window. Remove the following associated processes of the Virus, and close the task manager window:-


Remove the Associated Data In the next step of this process, you have to remove the following infectious files from the system files folder:-

  • %Desktopdir%\
  • %Programs%\\

Reverse the Modification in the Windows Registry Get rid of the infectious entries associated with the Virus. In this regard, open the registry editor by executing the RegEdit command through the Run option in the Start Menu. Once the registry editor is accessed, you need to remove the following corrupt entries at your earliest:-

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\\DisplayIcon %AppData%\[RANDOM CHARACTERS]\[RANDOM CHARACTERS].exe,0
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\\UninstallString “%AppData%[RANDOM CHARACTERS][RANDOM CHARACTERS].exe” -u
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\[RANDOM CHARACTERS] %AppData%\[RANDOM CHARACTERS]\[RANDOM CHARACTERS].exe
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\\ShortcutPath “%AppData%\[RANDOM CHARACTERS]\[RANDOM CHARACTERS].exe” -u
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\\DisplayName

Restart the PC in the normal mode to see the effect of the recent changes, and run a complete system scan after updating your antivirus.
